HawaiiCon 2018 Indie Game Jam Contest
What is it?
Indie Game Developers attending HawaiiCon are invited to submit their original game to our Indie Game Jam Contest.
Any type of game can be entered: Video, Mobile, Web, Board, Dice, Card, Tabletop, etc.
Third-party game engines and/or assets are allowed if they are properly licensed — and the total costs for game assets must be under $1,000.
How will games be judged?
Our panel of judges will look at five areas:
Design - the visual, audio, tactile, and overall “feel”
Gameplay - the rules, interactions, and overall “fun”
Completeness - the degree of polish and market readiness
Marketability - can the game generate revenue, is it viral, differentiated?
Theme - does it fit with HawaiiCon’s theme of Sci-Fi, Science and Hawaii Culture
Games must be stand-alone, not “Mods” or add-ons for commercial games.
Please do not submit games with mature content.
Entrants under the age of 18 must have a parent’s or guardian’s permission to enter.
Entrants are limited to one submission.
